An enthusiastic and determined Science graduate of Herbal Medicine with a decade of experience in complementary and alternative medicine. Experience includes Herbal Medicine consultancy, training for health care personnel and the retail sector. I believe that the clients individual needs come first and am a firm advocate of Integrated Health, where all health philosophies can work together to give the client the best possible care.
My herbal practice is diverse and includes the General and Fertility Practice I run in Central London to a charitable clinic in Kings Cross for those with chronic and terminal illness. I also attend a variety of festivals in my Yurt in order to practice herbal medicine and sustainable living and sell a range of herbal blends and first aid supplies. I enjoy many activities including cycling, running, walking, yoga and cold water swimming at Kenwood Ladies pond. I meditate regularly and attend meditation retreats at least twice a year.
Experience:
Retail sector: Employed in a Natural Health shop and adjacent polyclinic advising the general public on over-the-counter products and acting as receptionist to the clinic for five years. Developed excellent communication skills with the general public and gained valuable experience in dealing with health issues and concerns and finding solutions on the spot (Adept at ‘thinking on my feet’). Received considerable training from natural supplement manufacturers including; Solgar, Biocare, Bioforce, Natures Answer and Planetary Formulas. Worked alongside a number of different therapists including homeopaths, acupuncturists, cranial-sacral therapists, chiropractics and body workers. In the last two years trained other members of staff in products and health science.
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Consultancy:  Worked as a natural health consultant in an alternative and complementary health clinic with an adjacent shop. Effectively initiated a system of assessment for the clinic which consisted of interviewing new clients with a variety of chronic illnesses and referring them to the most relevant complementary therapists for their individual requirements. Set up and maintained an herbal dispensary and all related aspects to it. Advised on relevant OTC supplements. As part of a team, successfully helped create and implement a financial structure for these services.
Training: Successfully developed and implemented a training course in complementary and alternative medicine for a health and social care personnel recruitment agency. Author of the complementary therapies chapter in dementia care training manual. Continuing to develop training for specific needs such as for the elderly and dementia care.

1985-1990: 8 GCSEs Grades A-C.
